MS Teams or SharePoint

MS Teams + SharePoint site

  • is good for "managerial" people, who need to keep everything under control in a single place
  • is good for "collaboration-style" activities, i.e. Projects, PoC, brainstorming

Default retention period is 180 days (can be prolonged)

Permissions are simplified (you have owners and members only)

Could not load type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.DesignPackageType'

Recently I tried to update module "Microsoft.Online.SharePoint.PowerShell". It was updated OK, but:

Get-Module Microsoft.Online.SharePoint.PowerShell -ListAvailable | ft -a

gave me two modules So I tried to uninstall module with older version "16.0.8525.1200" and import module with newer version. It failed with error: "The version '###' of module '16.0.8525.1200' is currently in use. Retry the operation after closing the applications.

SharePoint Search doesn't work for a specific list or library

If you are troubleshooting SharePoint search that does work in general, bot does'n work for a specific list or library
(i.e. Search box not working),
and you already checked list settings -> advanced -> Search.. Allow items...
and you already tried to reindex list and site,
it's time to ensure that default item view form is in place and works ok.
Of not - just create a new display item form and make it default.

OneNote properties in SharePoint

OneNote document is not a one file, but a number of files in a folder. You can save OneNote document in SharePoint and it would looks like a file, but internal implementation of OneNote in SharePoint is actually a folder content type.

And if you try to assign properties to OneNote document - you just can't.

I haven't seen any clear instructions from Microsoft on the subject. And here we have an “unsupported” workarounds. Actually, there are two: “Change Content Type” way and “Quick Edit View” way.
